📋 Overview

Merkabati is a personal app for organizing your vehicles, tracking maintenance, and setting reminders. We're committed to your privacy and built the app on a simple principle: your data stays on your device.

✅ All your data is stored locally on your device only — no external servers, no cloud sync, no data sharing with third parties.

💾 Data Stored by the App

The app saves the following data directly on your device:

Vehicle Information

  • Vehicle name, make, model, year, and plate number
  • Odometer readings and associated dates
  • Photos you add for each vehicle

Maintenance & Oil Records

  • Service history and upcoming maintenance dates
  • Oil type used and next change date
  • Filters, battery, tires, and other service details

Reminders & Notifications

  • Periodic inspection and registration renewal reminders
  • Custom reminders you create yourself

Workshops & Service Locations

  • Workshops and service spots you save manually
  • Your personal notes about each location

App Settings

  • Language, appearance, and unit preferences
  • Premium subscription status

Storage Technology

The app uses localStorage and IndexedDB — built-in device storage technologies that do not transmit anything over the internet.

🔐 App Permissions

The app requests these permissions only when actually needed, and uses them for no other purpose:

📷 Camera & Photos

To capture photos of your vehicles or import images from your gallery. Photos are saved locally only.

📍 Location

To help you save the location of a workshop, service station, or any relevant place. Your location is not tracked continuously in the background.

🔔 Notifications

To send maintenance and appointment reminders that you set yourself. You can disable these at any time from your device settings.

⭐ Premium Subscriptions

Merkabati offers paid features through the official subscription system on the Apple App Store or Google Play.

  • All purchases, renewals, and cancellations are managed entirely by the official store through which you subscribed.
  • We do not store your credit card details or any payment information.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.
  • To cancel: go to Store Settings → Subscriptions → Merkabati.
Financial transaction data does not pass through the app — the official store handles this entirely.

🛡️ Data Security

Since your data stays on your device, the level of protection primarily depends on the security settings you choose for your device (lock screen PIN, fingerprint, Face ID, etc.).

  • We have no access to your data and cannot recover it if you delete it.
  • If your device is lost or reset, no backup will be available unless you used the Export feature within the app.
  • We recommend using the Export feature regularly to keep a copy of your data.

🗑️ Deleting Your Data

You can erase your data in either of these ways:

  • From within the app: Settings → Data Management → Delete All.
  • From your device: Uninstalling the app removes all its locally stored data.

We hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing we can delete or recover on our end.

📝 Policy Updates

We may update this document when new features are added that affect how data is handled. We will indicate the date of the latest revision at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
